The holistic world can feel really overwhelming, especially if you're just starting out. When I first started, it wasn’t as crowded as it is now. But that doesn’t mean you can't succeed—you just need to have a good plan.
One of the most important things you can do is find your unique style. Even if you’re doing something traditional like Reiki, think about how you can make it special. Maybe you want to be a Reiki teacher. Sure, there are a lot of Reiki teachers, but no one has your energy, your perspective, or your life story. The world needs what makes you different, and there are people who will connect with you in a way only you can offer.
Success doesn’t happen right away. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results in the first day—or even the first few months. Building your name and brand takes time, but there’s room for everyone in this field.
Using Social Media to Build Your Presence
Social media is one of the best tools currently you can use to grow your holistic practice today. Platforms like TikTok and X (which used to be called Twitter) are great places to connect with others, share your message, and build a community. I don’t use social media a lot myself—I built my reputation over the last 30 years—but I know how powerful it can be for people starting today.
The key to being successful on social media is interaction. Platforms reward you for engaging: the more you comment on other people's posts, the more people will see your posts. When you leave comments, try to write at least five words instead of just using emojis or short phrases. It’s not just about following others—it’s about creating real connections and adding something meaningful to conversations.
